Dat Minnesotan Accent Uffda

On any given Sunday I am asked (sometimes people don't even need to ask, they just know) by at least five people if I am from Minnesota. After saying yes they are proud that they guessed right. I have never been so aware of my strong Minnesotan accent until coming here. I dread when someone asks me where I am from, I try my hardest to say Minnesota without an accent. For all of you native Minnesotans you know what I mean when I say that it is impossible. I brace myself for the laugh that follows me saying Minnesota. Sometimes all I have to say is my name, and people are like, "Let me guess your from Minnesota?" How did you guess that one shirlock holmes? Lately I have decided to talk as Minnesotan as I can, not giving a rip about how humerous it may sound. So I guess it is true that us Minnesotans have a one in a kind accent.
